Apple revealed details of the iPhone’s UK introduction and O2 as the exclusive service provider for the iPhone’s cellular service in the UK. US iPhone customer satisfaction is off the charts, and we can’t wait to let UK customers get their hands on it and learn what they think of it.” Matthew Key, CEO of O2 UK said, “The iPhone is a breakthrough that is changing the way people use their mobiles forever, and we’re thrilled to have it exclusively for O2 customers in the UK.”
The iPhone that the UK will get is not any different from the US version as it will be the same EDGE-based 8GB version identical to the US version selling for around £269 (inc. VAT). Activation of the phone requires an 18 month contract with the same offered data features as the US AT&T service. O2, the UK service provider for the iPhone, will offer three different tariffs for the phone, starting at £35 a month for 200 minutes and 200 SMS messages, and going up to £55 a month for 1200 minutes and 500 SMS. All three of the plans include unlimited data, visual voicemail, and Wi-Fi access at the enabled hot-spots in the UK. The same activation process is required via an internet connection with use of iTunes to activate any UK iPhone for the O2 cellular service. The UK iPhone will be available in Apple stores and O2 retail stores on November 6th. Quote this article on your site | E-mail
